Let Begin with the name "LESLA". What does it mean? Where does this word come from? "LESLA" comes from the word LESBOLA which is the name of an island of ancient Greek history. Only woman lived on this island whom they were called "LESBIAN."

LESLA was founded in 1999 by Munthana Adisayathepkul, known by her nickname Dee. LESLA is an organization specifically formed for lesibans in Thailand--it comprised of a handful of women who shared the same sexual preferences and discriminatory concerns. LESLA is the place for lesbian of all kinds such as tom (butch), dy (femme), les, and etc. They are welcome here to express feelings, exchange ideas, meet new friends, get to know one another, take care of each others, and more.

When LESLA first started we only had few members, we got together regulary to exchange ideas or just hung out. LESLA is growing rapidly by word of mouth. Today, we have thousands of member.

With the increasing number of LESLA members every year, LESLA is trying to create activities that help people accept lesbianism in Thailand and to build confidence among lesbian. The LESLA party is just one of the many activities we have. Building acceptance and confidence are our key obejctives.

Our goal is to make LESLA known to the world. We want to reach out to lesbians not just in Thailand, but in the region. We believe that in the Southeast Asian countries, Thailand is more accepting of same-sex relationships than others. This is a good sign and something that we can ue to help the world to accept us. We would like very lesbian organization to help each other out more. Open your heart and mind to the lesbian community, we will always be hrere to help others so please help us in achieveing our aim.
